Time to meet the cats…

… that are featured in my new blog header image.

The three precious little souls covered in fur are:

The tabby with the expressive eyes is my beautiful Athena. I rescued her from Wood Green Animal Shelters in July 2011 when she was just over 2 months old. She has changed my life in so many ways.

The beautiful black and white cat in the background is unfortunately no longer with me.  Suzy passed away in 1998 at the age of 13. I believe she is still with me though. She is like a spiritual guide.

And I wanted a picture of another cat so I chose the tabby and white beauty belonging to my brother. Her name is Molly. She was the first cat I practiced my healing on and she loved it. She was having trouble urinating but after a couple of healing sessions she was better and soon back to normal.

The hand on the left is mine of course and the paws belong to Athena.

How to prevent your indoor cat from running out the door

Beware of Antifreeze

Both cats and dogs are attracted to the sweet taste and smell of it but it is extremely toxic. Ingestion is usually followed by vomiting, seizures and kidney failure.

So please keep it away from your animals and make sure there are no spillages if you need to use it.

Having said that though, there is still the worry that an outdoor cat may come into contact with  it due to any  leakages in the street or garage from cars.

This is one of the reasons I’m glad that my cat is an indoor cat. There are just far too many dangers out there for our beloved pets these days.

This blog will be about cats mainly, bringing you news and articles about those cute little fur babies. However, as an animal advocate I will also blog about animal cruelty, animal welfare and animal rights. I believe I am in this life to help animals. I won’t post anything too graphic and upsetting here though. But it’s important to let people know just what is so wrong in this world and how much animals are suffering.

I have loved animals all my life, and to be honest, I prefer them to people. Animals don’t judge, animals just love and accept. Treat them right and they will treat you right.

Though I love all animals, I have an extra deep bond with cats. I always think it’s because we are similar in character. It could also be due to the fact that I have only ever had cats as pets.

In an effort to  become a responsible cat owner (or mummy) I have read countless books on cat behavior. But the thing with me is, I have always felt a natural bond with cats. I just don’t feel that I need to try too hard. Who knows, maybe I was a cat in a past life.

I am also an animal healer/communicator and I will be offering to give distant healing on this blog.

As a lightworker I want to work to try and make this world a better place. For animals and for humans. But my passion will always lie with animals. They have always been a constant source of love and joy for me.

Animals are precious creatures and should be treated with the love and respect they deserve.
