Season of Mists #CaturdayArt

The thunder woke me up early so I’m writing this post now when everyone is still in bed (oh how I love the quiet morn when only Athena and I are up!)

We’ve been experiencing a heatwave in London and so I haven’t been able to do much of anything. I’m one of those people that can’t get along with the heat or summer (contrary to popular belief, there are some of us out there that don’t love summer all that much.) Yes, I won’t deny it,  summer makes me SAD. And life has been rubbish lately with so many things getting me down so I haven’t been inspired much creatively either.

I don’t want to moan though, or get too personal on this blog, so let’s get on with Caturday Art, shall we? (oh, shut up, thunder!)

Anyway, Halloween will be here soon and hopefully some cooler weather with it. Though I know there is little hope of October ever being like the autumn of my youthful days – misty, colourful, glorious and fun – at least I can take comfort in the shorter days and longer nights.)

Edit: As I edit this post on Friday afternoon, the air is now fresher and cooler, and nasty humidity has gone, so we sure needed that rain and thunder! Is this the end of summer I wonder?

I edited these photos with BeFunky. I just love the autumnal colours!

  1. TW says the older you get, the less you care for summer. Her bikini body is gone as is her desire to wear shorts and tank tops. Nice art.

  2. We’re just the other way around, we love Summer, at least Granny and I and Granny don’t want to think of the dark months that are coming with Autumn and Winter. She says the only thing she likes of Autumn are the colors. We think there is something in the air that makes us all feel very…kind-of-sad…especially during the full moon the energy is very sensible. Anyway…we love the picture, Athena and the quote. Very well done! Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend 🙂 <3

    • Most people feel like you and I understand why, but for me I just like the fresher air. I become more alive in autumn. And winter is great too if we ever get any snow! I like the peacefulness at this time of yea as summer brings with it so much noise and disturbance (especially if you live in a big city like me).

  3. My friend you are NOT alone in your loathing of summer, I do NOT like it and haven’t for YEARS. Too hot, especially this summer. Your weather pattern is so similar to ours in Michigan that it is strange. We had that ghastly humidity right around the same time that you did. This summer was much too hot and I cannot wait for Fall! I LOVE both of those photos! xoxo

  4. Athena in fall colors, how beautiful. I love a good thunderstorm, even with the loud thunder that wakes me up. I love the smell of the air after a good rain … cool and so refreshing. I am not good at heat either, though I surprised myself when I went to Thailand last February. I didn’t seem to be bothered by the heat at all. Maybe because it was dry … so maybe I should say, I am not good at humidity. I get grumpy when I am hot and sticky. Hope the cool air brings some joy back into your life. I know what it is to feel down … not a happy time. Smile … it always helps to smile 🙂

  5. You are not the only one that gets sad in the summer, I hate the summer. I was in a daze for the entire thing, but now that it is cooler my brain is working and I feel better- I hope the same happens for you when your weather changes. Beautiful Fall art. XO

  7. While I do find some summer activities enjoyable, I am also far more of a cool weather kind of person. I love autumn, and Halloween is one of my absolute favorite days of the year. We can’t wait for it to arrive! And, needless to say, we love your autumn art! Purrs!
