My best-selling memoir THE CAT YEARS: How My Cat Soulmates Saved Me,
What people are saying about this book:
“A courageously honest book, deeply moving. I couldn’t put it down”

“A story of courage”

An inspirational story of true courage, of picking yourself up from rock bottom, starting over, and discovering a new and beautiful soul path, a whole new reason for being”
“A heart-warming story involving cats”

“How animals can get through to people where sometimes humans cannot”

While still grieving after the loss of her father, cat lover and author Marie Symeou decides to rescue a kitten from an animal shelter. But it turns out that the beautiful kitten actually rescues her. Well, in fact, they rescue each other.

Inspired by her new muse, Marie decides to write an inspirational memoir sharing her memories of her beloved cats both past and present – her soulmates.

At times uplifting, yet often quite sad, this is an honest account of the author’s battle with depression and other inner demons that have tormented her throughout her life, and how she found true self-worth and healing through the unconditional love of her amazing cats.

A must read for cat lovers, and anyone who appreciates and acknowledges the incredible bond that exists between pet and human.

Go Cruelty Free

Many of the products available on our shop shelves, from cosmetics to floor cleaners, have either been tested on animals or contain ingredients that have.

Now, to an animal lover like me, this is just not on, and I’m sure it’s the same for most animal lovers. Just think what some poor little creature had to endure for the sake of testing the safety of products just so that vain humans can look more beautiful, or make their home all sparkly?

I really believe we should all take steps towards boycotting companies that refuse to stop testing on animals. There is just no need for it in this day and age. I mean, come on, why animal testing? Obviously, as some companies have bothered to find out, there are alternatives to testing on animals. Why must some poor animal suffer? It’s so barbaric.

While researching for this post, I came across links that I simply could not bring myself to click on because I knew what dreadful sights awaited me; i.e., pictures or videos of animals caged up with all sorts of monstrous things stuck in their eyes and heads. I’m shaking as I write this and tears are welling up in my eyes because I have clicked on such links before and it tore me apart. It makes me so angry! No animal should have to suffer this way.

Go Cruelty Free

Please, I urge you to stop buying products that are tested on animals, because the more people shun these companies that won’t let go of animal testing, the quicker we will get our message across and the less animals will suffer. Ignoring it is not the answer, even if it does upset you. It’s like that for all problems in life. People should not be afraid to speak up for their beliefs.

But aren’t products that are not tested on animals more expensive?

They don’t have to be. Superdrug store here in England is where I buy most of my beauty products and cosmetics. Their own brand isn’t tested on animals and it’s quite cheap. I also buy a lot of stuff online, which can be cheaper too, especially if you’re a regular customer.
